Barn Conversion

Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire

About This project

Set in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these stables are to be converted into a compact yet luxurious two-bed home.

The interior design strategy for this project seeks to maximise the smaller internal spaces by utilising natural light, muted colours and smart design. The resulting rooms make the best use of the building footprint giving a feeling of spaciousness.

The courtyard garden is accessed via level threshold doors creating a seamless flow between internal and external spaces. At its centre is a set-down seating area surrounding a fire fit.

The materials palette selected celebrates the building’s agricultural history and setting by incorporating timber cladding and a standing seam zinc roof. The floor is to be finished in complementary natural stone and the openings will be finished with matt anthracite grey.
